Ashley: What;s your name and role in the band?
Ryan: I'm Ryan.
Matt: He's the drummer.
Jayson: I'm Jayson, I sing.
Andy: I'm Andy, I do the guitars.
Matt: I'm Matt, I play bass.

Ashley: When did you guys get together?
Jayson: Just over two years ago.

Ashley: What was the first song you guys recorded together?
Matt: Strange--
Jayson: Nah, it wasn't, we didn't record that together. ..The first song that we recorded together-
Andy: "Elks Lodge."
Ryan: No, it wasn't-
Jayson: We'll just say "Crazy Cold."

Ashley: What's your favorite track off of your cd?
Jayson: Can it be off the cd we haven't done yet?
Ashley: Sure.
Matt: Mine's "The Balance," I know that.
Ryan: What do you mean favorite? Like if I were to sit back and listen to it?
Ashley: Yeah.
Andy: Track six.
Jayson: Yeah, the untitled track.
Ryan: I'd say, uh, "Scorn."

Ashley: What's your favorite part of recording?
Matt: I like the whole idea of just seeing something come from nothing. Starting at nothing and just, building. Everything, adding layers until we have it finished. Probably, it's hopefully better than you anticipated.
Andy: Yeah, I'm not going to have a better answer than that.

Ashley: What's the biggest audience you've played to?
Jayson: Nineteen thousand.

Ashley: Who do you think is your biggest influence?
Jayson: I think we influence all the kids.
Matt: No, no, who's our biggest influence.
Ryan: As a whole, or individually?
Ashley: Individually.
Jayson: Our biggest influence, corporately, would be probably...
Ryan: ...collectively.
Jayson: Collectively, probably would be, it would have to be someone classic I guess.
Matt: U2.
Andy: Not all of us.
Jayson: We all listen to the Police I guess, U2.
Matt: I don't like the Police.
Ryan: I don't like U2.
Andy: Is there one group that we can all agree on? Because I'm sure all of you guys love the Pixies. You see, because Matt's not super hip to the Police or U2. Pixies, you guys all like the Pixies, I don't like the Pixies.
Jayson: We all like Vendetta Red a lot.
Ryan: Either U2 or The Police, I mean [to Matt] you like U2, right?
Matt: They're okay. U2 is fine, I don't care.
Jayson: Pick out a band name that's on the wall.
Matt: I personally like the Start.
Andy: Adam loves ass is the best band ever.
Jayson: We all love stunt monkey.
Andy: E-town Concrete, Campfire girls.
Jayson: Next question.

Ashley: What do you think is your biggest accomplishment as a band?
Jayson: Staying together. Biggest accomplishment, I think that, um..
Matt: Putting out the record before getting signed.
Jayson: Yeah.
Matt: Making the whole album ourselves.
Jayson: I think our new music also is a really big accomplishment. We're constantly changing, like, what we perceive our band to sound like. Not changing the sound, trying to stretch ourselves, I think that's constantly an accomplishment. The better we get, the more it shows that we're putting in our time, our effort.

Ashley: Do you guys have any before show rituals that you do?
Andy: Drink.
Jayson: No we don't do it that much.
Andy: That is a lie.
Jayson: Oh come on, there's drinking before shows.
Andy: Not like heavy drinking, you know. I'm having my beer.
Ryan: We warm up.
Andy: We just try and mellow out.
Ryan: We stretch, we warm up.
Jayson: We put on those weird hats.
Andy: The hats.
Matt: We have banjo time.
Ryan: Banjo time.
Jayson: We have banjo time where we get under a big blanket and we all sit in a line and throw the blanket over ourselves and just kind of yell.
Matt: What about the hippie drum circle?
Jayson: We do do hippie drum circles.
Andy: You guys are all such asses.
Jayson: No, we do though, we really do.
Ryan: You can take anyone of these things and just put it in. Whatever you'd like.
Matt: You can also if you want to pick something off the wall too.
Jayson: It's full blown chaos.
Andy: Skate with hemlock at 14.
Jayson: Peace, love...--Is it just me or is that drawing a yoda a cross between tweedle dumb and tweedle whatever and a gremlin and yoda.
Andy: And the cheshire cat.
Jayson: Yup.
Andy: Are those-
Jayson: Okay, keep going.

Ashley: Do you guys ever have any of the other bands you're playing with onstage with you?
Andy: Just to throw stuff at us.
Jayson: Yeah-
Andy: Dave Matthews stayed onstage with us.
Jayson: He was dancing on the side of the stage.
Ryan: Yeah, he was.
Jayson: The last time we had people on stage with us, we were covered in silly string. It was an interesting experience, so-
Andy: Something Corporate did that.

Ashley: Do you change your set often?
Andy: I actually don't think we've played the same set for more than a couple shows in a row.
Matt: On tours we'll play the same set, like this tour, right now, we'll have the same set. Pretty much the whole time.

Ashley: What's your favorite thing to do while you're not touring?
Ryan: I like making music.
Matt: Yeah.
Andy: Paint.
Ryan: I surf. Play drums.
Jayson: I really enjoy Tiger Woods Golf right now.

Ashley: Have you had any bad experiences while touring?
Andy: Bad expierences, like equipment breaking down onstage.
Matt: Or when we played at the Lion's Lair in Denver.
Andy: Sometimes, it'll be like venues in which there's noone there. Sometimes equipment breaks, sometimes a car will break. You'll lose something.
Matt: Get in a fight.
Jayson: What was the question?
Matt: It was if any bad things have happened on tour. Andy and Ryan almost got in a fight because some guy in.. where was it, Tennessee.
Andy: Kansas.
Ryan: Wisconsin?
Matt: Kansas. Some guy in Kansas-
Andy: Long story.
Matt: He though Andy was gay. --She wants stories, she doesn't want one word answers. Have you ever had any problems on the road? Yes. What's your favorite thing to do? Stuff.
Andy: Yes.
Matt: Yeah.
Andy: Favorite thing to do. Yes.

Ashley: Anything embarassing happen while you were performing?
Jayson: Yeah, I've fallen off the stage a couple times.
Andy: My equipment's broken down.
Jayson: That's not that embarrassing.
Andy: That makes me feel embarrassed.
Jayson: One time in Salt Lake City, the band before us liked to spit a lot, and so the singer spit water everywhere and I was running around during a song, and all of a sudden I wasn't on the stage anymore, and then I got back up onstage. Then another time in Toronto I jumped on the barrier and I went to get back on the stage and our tour manager decided that I should use his back as a stepping stool, and I kind of missed his back and stepped on his shoulder, and I fell down. I fell back into the barrier and I cut myself.
Andy: What about the.. --LG Action Sports.
Jayson: Yeah, and one time we played and it was raining and I was running across the stage and I couldn't stop myself because I didn't have enough traction and I fell into our guitarist. Basically the embarrassing things that happen usually happen due to my lack of balance, and, um, my not being aware of my own weight.
Ryan: I've broken some drum sticks when I was playing.
Matt: I think that happens to a lot of drummers.
Ryan: Uh-huh.
Matt: More to drummers than anyone else.
Ryan: Yeah. That's all that's happened to me.

Ashley: If you guys could make your own tour, who would you put on it?
Matt: If we could make our own tour.
Andy: Like four or five bands?
Matt: That's a good question.
Andy: We wouldn't all agree on that.
Ashley: Individually?
Matt: We can each pick one band that you would go on tour with and that would be the whole tour. Us, and then [to Ryan]...Skip you. [to Jayson]...You.
Jayson: I would have to say Coldplay actually.
Matt: So us, and Coldplay and...U2..So U2
Ryan: A band that's around?
Matt: No, I could pick--
Ryan: Oh, SP, SP, of course.
Matt: Stone Temple Pilots? No.
Ryan: No, that's STP. The Smashing Pumpkins.
Andy: That would be a star-studded tour.
Jayson: I wouldn't go see it.
Andy: I wouldn't see it, that's just a bunch of cock-rock.
Matt: It's just a bunch of guys trying to out-do each other.
Jayson: Can we come onstage and all sing "Imagine" together?
Andy: Mhmm. Okay.
Jayson: Next song.
Ryan: Next song?
Jayson: Next question.

Ashley: Anything else?
Jayson: Anything else. More bands?
Ashley: Nah, just, do you want to say anything else?
Matt: I want to say that I am so apologetic for the huge amount of [drawings] and-
Jayson: This place is rude.
Matt: This is the worst dressing room I have ever seen.
Andy: I just keep looking.
Matt: It's filthy.
Andy: I mean, granted there is some well-drawn art and artistry, but...
Matt: Let me just say the anatomically correct [drawing] ..not a fan of it.
Jayson: Yeah, that's really sad.
Matt: Someone kind of crossed it off.
Jayson: I honestly, and yeah, I think we should probably just apologize for this interview in general because.. we're jackasses.
Andy: I think it was okay.
Matt: It was okay. It was our first interview though, we're not used to it. Wait, so what was this for anyway?
Ashley: It's my website.
Matt: Your own website, you made it?
Ashley: Yeah.
Jayson: So, we're in the spotlight?
Matt: So why are you doing something on us?
Ashley: I just ask bands from the shows I'm going to.
Matt: So we're just kind of like the last resort?
Ashley: No! I try everyone-
Ryan: Dude.
Matt: You couldn't get SoCo, so instead you got us! I'm just giving you a hard time. Well, that's really cool. How old are you?
Ashley: Sixteen.
Matt: Sixteen? I wasn't doing anything that cool at sixteen
